A: Nzinga’s Table proudly observes Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest. From Friday evening at sundown until Saturday night after sunset, our kitchen is fully closed—no cooking, deliveries, or business transactions are made. This practice honors Jewish law and reflects our deep respect for rest, family, and spiritual reflection.
Q: What time does Nzinga’s Table close on Fridays?
A: To prepare for Shabbat, we close every Friday at 6:00 PM sharp. All operations—including cooking, packaging, and deliveries—are completed before this time, regardless of sundown fluctuations. This ensures our kitchen is fully shut down in time for candle lighting and peaceful rest.
Q: When do operations resume after Shabbat?
A: We resume our regular schedule on Sunday morning at 5:30 AM, or after Shabbat ends if extended work is required Saturday night. However, no Saturday night operations are advertised or guaranteed—our standard weekly flow starts fresh every Sunday morning.
Q: Is everything really kosher? What does that mean?
A: Yes! Every single ingredient, utensil, and prep station at Nzinga’s Table is kosher. Our kitchen is supervised by a certified mashgiach and follows strict kosher protocols. We do not mix meat and dairy, and we maintain separate prep areas for meat, parve (neutral items like fish and vegetables), and dairy/baked goods in their own designated kitchen suites.
